LUPRO, a global green energy resource producer, has selected Thailand as its base for green hydrogen and green ammonia resource production and is preparing for full-scale operations.

According to LUPRO, Thailand boasts abundant water resources and easy access to clean energy from solar and wind power. Its extensive air and maritime transport networks make it a global logistics hub, offering optimal conditions for green hydrogen production and transportation.

LUPRO has signed a green energy sales and supply contract worth a total of $4.5 billion (approximately 6 trillion won) with MA Corporation, a Thai energy trading company.

A LUPRO representative stated, "We chose Thailand as our base thanks to the generous support of Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister Gon Davaransi. The Thai government is also expected to actively cooperate, as having a global green energy production base will contribute to the country's carbon neutrality and accelerate the establishment of new energy industry infrastructure."

LUPRO's planned green energy production site is located near Bangkok, a 5.4 million square meter (approximately 1.64 million pyeong) area connected to Thailand's Gulf of Thailand port via a canal. With abundant wind, solar, and water resources, it is considered ideally suited for green hydrogen production and transportation.

Akirason, CEO of MA Corporation, stated, "This project has already been reported to the Thai government. Following discussions with LUPRO and the Thai Minister of Energy, we plan to sign a Master Agreement within the year to proceed with the project as strategic partners."

Kim Se-ho, Chairman of LUPRO, emphasized, "By producing green hydrogen and green ammonia resources in Thailand and supplying them domestically and internationally through the Saemangeum New Port, we will actively address the global climate crisis. Furthermore, we will become a leader in resource security and contribute to Korea's carbon neutrality."
